Pod neckwear
Where to begin the describing this wonderful talismanic pod? At the bottom, we see a very unusual geometric pattern with crackling and layers of colors. The next higher level has antique cut steel bead wound around and embedded in blue wax. Over that a coil of leather cording in a subtle ombre. This two is embedded in a bit of wax, melding it into the overall shape. The top is another clay layer with an unusual bumpy texture and more organic shades of color. At the upper tip is a cone that looks rather like a hat with a brim. A thick hammered steel loop emerges from it to connect to a rough soldered circle. From there, doubled leather cording with bands of African metal lead to a long necklace. A big and thick cold forged clasp hooks into an oxidized extender chain. This terminates in a sweet charm made of my enameled drop and a carved wooden round embedded with blue wax and topped with layers of brass caps. This necklace is adjustable from 30-36”
