Kuchi opal necklace with quartz
The focal of this icy necklace is an antique coin charm made by the Kuchi people of Afghanistan. Onto it I’ve built a cabochon with tin walls and a cloudy opalescence. It consists of abalone shell with aurora borealis gleam as well as iridescent flakes and tiny silver caviar beads under milky layers of resin.
Below I’ve added rondelle of labradorite, mystic quartz and rutile.
It hangs on a hammered brass swirl.
The necklace is a strand of large quartz rondelles with chunky, cloudy inclusions. Each is nestled between dark brass caps. At each link are two tiny mostly quartz dangles.
At the end of the extender chain is a stack of more semiprecious stones.
Adjustable from 18.5-21”.
One-of-a-kind. Comes beautifully gift wrapped with vintage papers. Ships from the US.
